Well...

...we can all see that I am a big fat blog neglector.  I've been trying to get my real website up and going, have been super busy with sessions, getting ready for more Oh Sweet Sadie (hi OSS friends!), and Baby #5.  So forgive me please and hang tight for more updates and current photos.  Shoot me an email if you have questions on sessions or my work.

I can't post without some photos, so in case you need your pretty girl fix, here are a few dancer headshots that I love for The Dance Company and the amazing Odyssey Dance Theatre.

Anderson Family

This is one of my dear friends, Lia, and her beautiful, compliant family! It was a joy to spend a brisk early Saturday morning with you, Andersons. And a good thing we did it that day too...the "red truck" men came and mowed it all down the very next week. Without even asking the photographer's permission - gasp!

So here are just a few of my favorites...

Ready for the holidays? MINI SESSIONS and CONTEST!

I am so excited to announce StyleHouse Photography's urban child sessions and CONTEST for the 2008 holidays! They are available for both existing and new clients, and we're holding them early enough in the season that your kiddos may even have a little color left over from summer. I won't be taking sessions in November or December this year, and only have 2 more full sessions open in October, so these mini sessions are perfect for those of you who need "update" portraits, amazing holiday cards, and gifts for grandparents and other family! Here's the lowdown...

1. Your choice: two days and three looks - Sessions in the evening of Friday, October 17th and Saturday, October 18th will be at our URBAN/COUNTRY location. If you prefer an URBAN/CITY look, we'll be heading to downtown Salt Lake on Saturday morning. And for the URBAN/STUDIO shoots, plan on Saturday afternoon.

2. The scoop:
Pre-session consultation by phone or email
15 minute session with one child (add 5 minutes for each child up to three total)
50 *exquisite* press printed holiday cards (several style choices)
1 8x10 print
1 5x7 print
2 watermarked digital images for your blog or emailing (normally only available with a collection)
10% off of a la carte photo art
In-person ordering session with 8-10 proofs shown
Entry into StyleHouse Photography's contest!
$145 (add $10 for each additional child up to three total) $285 value

Refer a friend and you will both receive one set of 8 wallets!

3. The style: URBAN! Portraits *do not* always have to be done in khakis and a white polo. Have some fun with this...think LAYERS and COLOR, texture, hats, boots, pettiskirts, scarves, jackets...make it funky and fun! Contrasting patterns and colors make for cool potraits too! Please contact me if you need help with clothing choices.

4. The kids: These sessions and contest are for children, but I am happy to shoot one complimentary family pose if you would like. Sessions are for up to three children...if you have more than three, please consider a regular session or scheduling a second time slot (100% of second fee becomes print credit...think amazing gallery wrapped canvas!).

5. THE CONTEST!: Once I have edited all of the sessions, I will choose my favorite image from each. All entries will then be judged solely by 20 professional photographers from around the world. We have had awesome prizes donated by some faulous retailers. The first place winner of the contest will have their choice of prize from below, will receive a mounted 12x12 print, and will become the new face of StyleHouse Photography! Three runners up will be awarded their choice of the remaining prizes and a gift print of their liking!

*babai alainn: Winner's choice of a made-to-order beanie! babai alainn uses original designs and several techniques with acrylic yarn to create unique, chunky, textured beanies. We get comments every time we wear ours!
*Shabby Apple: This awesome company's prize is a beautiful Creamsicle dress. They have stunning clothing for women and girls, not to mention that they give back to women of the world who are in need (very cool-read their stories here!), so be sure to check them out!
*Curious Workmanship: My own children have worn these darling booties, and we've given them as gifts. The winner will get their choice, but the adorable cowboy/girl boots are my personal favorite. Love them!
*bugs 'n' bees: I love the clothes this company makes with designer fabrics. Such darling skirts and dresses, plus the cutest sock monkey outfit for little guys! They are offering the winner a $25 gift certificate!

I anticipate these sessions to fill quickly, so please contact me (801.302.8551 or stylehousephotography at gmail.com) to book your session or to get more information. If I don't get back with you immediately, please know that I am going a little crazy with Oh Sweet Sadie! (please stop by...you're welcome to talk to me there about your session!), but I'll book in the order that requests were received. The session fee must be paid at the time of booking to reserve your spot. Due to the nature of mini session scheduling, fees are non-refundable, but may be transferred to another family if necessary. Unlike regular custom sessions, mini sessions are booked back to back, so please arrive a few minutes early for your children to get acclimated. Late arrivals may not get their full time. Rain dates are planned for October 24th and 25th.

Big Announcement Coming!

Be sure to check back next week for our exciting announcement! It's the details on our fall/holiday promotion, and it's going to be rockin'!

And since we can't post without some photos, here are some beauties!

I *love* this birth announcement. Look at those three beautiful children! Andrea chose to have half of these printed on a classic linen stock and half with a stunning pearl finish. They were awesome! (I don't know what's up with the color on Blogger lately...their skin looks so blue...sorry!)

From Chicago to Alpine - Beautiful Family of 6...

I was really excited to photograph this beautiful family visiting from Chicago. My own children are so-very-not-shy, so it was fun to try to work a little magic as I got them to warm up to me one on one. Here are some of my favorites...aren't they lovely?

I really do love this one...check out those eyes!

There was definitely a little bit of this going on too. :)

And for good measure...

Sadie, Sadie, Little Lady...

Here's my Sadie girl. We have a beautiful view out the back of our house and on Sunday after church I just had to grab Sadie, who couldn't nap more than 20 minutes, nor stay in her room while everyone else was sleeping, and take her out to the "wheat" (read: wildflowers; read: weeds) blowing in the wind.

Seriously...

...are they cute, or are they CUTE! I am so blessed to be able to work with such great families and such *beautiful* children. Rowan and Lia were no exception...in fact, they were especially darling and easy to work with. Even with a little visit from the paramedics, Rowan was such a sport. Definitely the first time a session has ever been cut short and ended this way, and let's pray it's the last. Thanks Maren!
